CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTORS
(CWI)
Expert Guidance
Visual examination is the first line of defense for product quality. Many flaws or irregularities can be quickly identified. A Certified Welding Inspector provides more than just a simple visual oversight. The inspector becomes part of the QC process by overseeing all stages of fabrication, from drawing reviews to Code compliance, ultimately ensuring workmanship standards.
MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING (MT)
A Comprehensive Approach
MT uses direct and indirect magnetic fields to detect surface or near surface discontinuities such as cracks, seams, and lack of fusion in ferromagnetic materials. It is a visual aid that quickly identifies an imperfection that may have been overlooked.
ULTRASOUND TESTING
(UT)
Profound Results
UT uses high frequency sound waves to examine materials or components. This volumetric method provides information about the internal condition.Like sonar, sound is reflected from surfaces within or at the opposite side of the material. Based on signal features the type pf reflector can be identified to determine it's relevance to the applicable criteria.UT is especially useful for weld examinations and material thickness evaluations.
PENETRANT TESTING
(PT)
Faster Results
PT is the acronym used for the Liquid Penetrant Method or commonly referred to as Dye Penetrant. It uses a colored (dyed) liquid, which through its material properties can penetrate tight surface breaking discontinuities such as cracks, seams, lack of fusion and porosity. The special dyes and developers highlight imperfections using color contrast. This allows the quick assessment of large surface areas to detect flaws too small to readily see with an unaided visual examination. This method is one of the primary NDT methods used due to its ability to adapt to and surface geometry.
ABOUT US
Pacific NDT specializes in onsite CWI, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant and Ultrasound Testing services. Pacific NDT offers highly trained, reliable technicians meeting the requirements of ASNT’s SNT TC-1A.
We use the latest Non-Destructive testing (NDT) and analytical techniques used by the industry to evaluate the properties of materials, components or the structure of a system for characteristic differences or welding defects. This is done without causing damage to the original part. It can be performed on raw materials, finished or semi-finished materials such as: cast, rolled and forged products, billets, welds, in service assembled or disassembled products.

STANDARDS
Pacific NDT is committed to maintaining the highest set of standards. We work closely with API , ASME, AWS,ASTM and ASNT standards to insure quality results.
